Green Campus Initiatives
GREEN CAMPUS INITIATIVE
Integral University’s (IU) Green Campus Initiative advocates for environment-friendly behaviors and education that work together to encourage sustainable and eco-friendly practices in its premises and neighborhood. University believes in a proactive approach to sustainable development in accord with nature. The university has well-documented its green policy which focuses on major areas like Environment, Transport, Water, Energy, and Waste-Management.
To sustain & protect the natural resources of the environment, for present and upcoming generations, IU preaches & practices the guidelines as mentioned in its green-policy document.
To comply with the policy and to sensitize the university employee and students, proactive measures are taken and due efforts are put from time to time. To name a few such efforts- restricting automobile entries in the campus, promoting battery-powered vehicles and bicycles on campus pathways, discouraging the use of plastic/poly-bags in canteens and cafeterias, encouraging plantation resulting in beautiful landscaping in the university, and establishing pedestrian-friendly pathways.
GREEN AUDIT
Furthering the motive of green campus initiative and to achieve sustainable development goal (SDG), Integral University conducts audits by approved external agencies from time to time. IU has constituted a “Green Audit Committee” entrusted with the responsibility of conducting Green Audit, including energy audit and environment audit, preparing and submitting the annual report on it. Committee also supervises & ensures due compliance of the university green policy in campus.
Awareness Programs:
University is very much concerned about its Green Campus Initiative motive and put a due emphasis on the conduction of awareness programs on the green environment. To ensure the effective participation of all personnel in promoting a positive working culture, and atmosphere and to improve green performance, departments of various faculties conduct awareness programs on Green Environment. Awareness programs include- plantation drives, site visits to observe the importance of nature, guest lectures, and celebration commemorative days on green environment.
